October is going to be a busy month at Little Beakers - Sandy! In addition to Open Lab, we will be offering Private Halloween Themed Guided Lab Sessions, Dissection Lab Session, Standard Guided Lab Sessions, a month long Workshop and Weekly Science Club classes. Private Halloween Themed Guided Lab SessionsLooking for a different way to make Halloween special this year? Look no further! Your children and their friends will have a spook-tacular time when you book a private Halloween Themed Guided Session at Little Beakers**! They will squeal with delight as a Little Beakers scientist guides them through 3 - 4 Halloween themed hands-on experiments and finishes with a group grand finale! You can keep the party going by adding a party room reservation, pizza package and/or party favors to your reservation. The Details Reservation times are available every day in October, so you can choose the day and time that works best for you! Packages start at $100 for up to 6 participants. Additional participants can be added for $15 ea. Extend your party by reserving one or more of our party rooms for 30 minutes for $30 ea. Pizza packages and party favors are also available. Lab coats and safety glasses are provided to participants for the duration of the lab session.

During a Dissection Lab session, a Little Beakers Scientist will introduce participants to both the internal and external anatomy of the specimen using diagrams and/or paper models before examining an actual preserved specimen. The perfect balance between camps and classes. Workshops are scheduled for a full month, with children attending a weekly 2-hour session that focuses on a specific theme. In addition to the listed theme activities, ALL workshops will include exciting chemical reactions and explosions, physics, stretchy/gooey polymers, molecular model building, and much more!! Sign up for our October Workshop here Homeschool, Pre-School andAfter School Science Clubs are in session!In September our students learned what impact contaminants in water have on growing plants, steps that can be taken to help clean up the water and, in the case of our Subatomic level students, what might be living in the water we find in the environment around us. Starting in October, we will begin learning/reviewing the Periodic Table, the system to organize the elements that are the building blocks for everything around. Theories will be created and tested by students through hands-on experiments. Learning gained from hands-on experimental activities is enhanced through the use and/or the study of: Microscopes and other lab equipment Preserved specimens for dissections Atoms and molecular building models The periodic table Key historical scientists and inventors Real lab experiences / field trips for the older student
